About the course

B.El.Ed. stands for Bachelor of Elementary Education. It is an undergraduate level bachelor’s degree course (4 years long). Students who have completed 10+2 standard are eligible to pursue this course.

Technically speaking, B.El.Ed. is a teacher training course. This course has been designed to instill teaching skills in 10+2 passed students. The course develops 10+2 passed students into skilled and knowledgeable teachers (elementary level). In short, this course caters to the elementary level teachers’ work force in India.

B.El.Ed. is a job oriented course too! This qualification can help you get government as well as private sector jobs in India!

B.El.Ed. course focuses on topics such as – communication skills, teaching skills, human and child development, subject-wise knowledge and relevant theory classes/courses. The academic program is a holistic mixture of traditional classroom lectures and hands on practical session.

Scope:

After completing B.El.Ed you will eligible for appear in State and Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) in both the papers ( Paper I & II).

After clearing the TET you can apply for teaching post in both Primary (Class I-V) as well as in Upper Primary (Class VI-VII) school.

The opportunities is significant Universities and Schools may be low, however, there are several private schools and colleges where an individual may join after completing an education degree. Teachers can join TGTs, PGTs, Learning and Development teachers, coaches, mentors within School/Organization Other job profiles offered to a B.El.Ed candidate is a pre-primary teacher, junior content writer, career counsellor, proofreader, etc.

Salary:

The average starting salary of B.El.Ed graduate is from Rs. 3 lakh to Rs. 10 lakh. Counsellors who have completed their psychology courses can also teach a lot of important things to others about life and personal management skills.
